Made[LAB]

A bespoke digital platform for a Paris-based luxury packaging house, built from scratch to carry a complete brand reinvention.

A digital platform built to be as bespoke as the luxury packaging it presents. Designed in collaboration with Studio.Build and built entirely from scratch, the site carries a complete brand reinvention without flattening any of its boldness, and has continued to evolve alongside Made[LAB] ever since.

Overview

Made[LAB] are precision material engineers for the luxury market, producing packaging for houses like Dior, Bvlgari and Tiffany. When Studio.Build came to us with a brand reinvention built around the idea of "punk-luxe," we set out to build a site that held the same energy; structurally bespoke from page to page, with no two layouts resolving the same way.

The Challenge

We tend to build sites that find their system and hold it, but this project asked us to work directly against that instinct. Made[LAB]'s output is singular by nature, each piece a different combination of technique and material, and Studio.Build's new identity leant fully into that specificity. A custom typeface, a considered photography direction using laboratory clamps as a visual motif, and a colour palette that shifts boldly between sections — the site needed to carry all of it without smoothing anything into something repeatable.

Our Approach

We worked closely with Studio.Build to understand how their design decisions would translate into code without losing their character, consulting on everything from layouts where type drifts deliberately off-grid to a homepage animation that references the layering and movement of printing machinery. There is a shared visual language running through the site, but each page finds its own compositional logic and rhythm, and the architecture underneath had to be flexible enough to welcome that variation. As with all of our builds, there is no framework; the site is built bespoke, including a custom CMS that lets Made[LAB] manage their own showcase as new work comes through.

The Outcome

The site has been a measurable success for Made[LAB], and we have continued to refine and extend it as their business and brand have evolved, adding new project pages and adjusting structures so the platform grows alongside them. That kind of ongoing adaptability is the quiet return on building something from scratch with genuine intent.
