A new digital presence for Hoare Associates — championing clarity, efficiency, and a new model for legal support in the music industry.

Hoare Associates is redefining legal services for the music industry through a clear, process-led model. We designed and built a site that mirrors their shift to ALSP — stripped of jargon, built for trust, and ready to scale.
Overview
Established in 2015, Hoare Associates began as a traditional legal consultancy. But over time, their work evolved, moving beyond legal advice into legal process. Their clients weren’t looking for formalities; they needed frictionless, scalable support to keep their business affairs in motion.
The new site marks that change. Built in response to a move towards a full ALSP model, the site acts as more than a rebrand — it’s a reframing. Clear structure, unambiguous language, and carefully modulated visuals help distinguish them in a sector that often feels opaque or over-complicated.
It’s a space designed to speak directly to business affairs teams, while maintaining depth, credibility and a sense of discretion.

Our approach
The brief centred on clarity — of structure, of language, and of purpose. The goal wasn’t to explain everything, but to give Hoare Associates a digital presence that reflects how they work: precise, efficient, and unencumbered.
We worked with the existing identity rather than overhauling it, introducing new typographic rhythms, subtle patterns, and tonal refinements to bring greater coherence and flexibility. Visual elements were kept restrained and purposeful, allowing the tone of voice and structure to lead.
Technically, the site was built with longevity in mind. Lightweight, accessible and intentionally minimal, it’s designed to adapt alongside the business. Development followed the same principles as the design: quiet confidence, clear intent, and room to evolve.

Founder
“The site which the team at Engine crafted for us, stands out from anything else in our sector. It's an authentic digital representation of what we do and how we do it, and crucially, it serves as a filter when attracting new clients and partners: if they like our website, chances are they will like working with us, and vice versa.”
